A view of the pond in October. The vegetation is dying down quickly now.
Look how big this leaf is! (Fairly normal-sized foot included for scale.)
The big dead tree on Marnie's Point continues to provide a home for all sorts of living things.
A blog about my experience with the Community Stewardship Program at the Beechwood Wetland site (and the surrounding area) along the Don River in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. There will be pictures, anecdotes and garlic mustard galore.

Hi Marnie. At least one of the alders at the water line near your point is Black Alder (invasive European one). There was a seedling a little way away too. They stand out very green right now. Best to get rid of them before they reproduce more.
The mushroom on the dead elm is Velvet Stalk.
